We have a loft single bedroom approx 10’x10′ built at least 20 years ago by a previous owner of the house, but we don’t think the floor was strengthened at the time. In order to be able to state when selling the house, that is a usable bedroom, would the floor have to be strengthened? How expensive would this be and would additional timber joists be required or RSJ’s? And also what are the head room minimum requirements?
